The headline news this month belongs once again to your wonderful continuing generosity. At present the total raised from the second share offer stands at nearly £59,000, which is nearly 90% of our target for the first two campaign priorities: funding vital repairs and making our welcoming community pub truly accessible to all. Many, many thanks to you all for your investment.
There are a few days left until the deadline for share applications on 28 February. The total raised at this point will be the figure that underpins our project planning moving forward, although you are welcome to purchase further shares beyond that date, either for yourself or as a gift for others. Every investment, big or small, will be vital in securing the financial viability of the White Horse.

What happens next
Your magnificent share offer response has given us the green light to begin the two projects in earnest. We’ll be planning a schedule of improvements in consultation with the tenant over the coming months, with any major works involving any extended closure of the pub anticipated in early 2026. We’ll share details of the plans and developments through our regular communications and at the AGM in spring.
Pub news
We’re delighted to report that the pub has remained busy during this traditionally ‘quieter’ period of the year, thanks to the continuing efforts of Craig and the team. Events have included poetry readings and open mic nights, plus regular events such as the folk music and quiz nights. I must also highlight the fantastic menus that Barbara and her staff continue to deliver, in particular those for Burns Night and Valentines Day. The Thursday Steak Nights and Fish Friday lunches are also proving to be very popular.
