After raising over £3000 in pledges from allotment holders and a donation from the Parish Council works started last weekend to bring water to Churchfield Allotments.
While the trench was being dug, allotment holders and their families toiled all day getting in the new pipework.
As darkness fell the last pipe was laid and the trench backfilled.
On Monday morning the last of preparation work, digging the access hole, was completed.
Now all that remains is for Thames Water to make their connections and for the four water troughs to be installed.
Just in time for the 2019 growing season!
