Steady progress is being made on the plans for the orchard. An important part is getting expert opinions and assessment on the orchard plans. These reports will then be a key element as we develop a longer term management plan.
We have a vision.
In the month of May when all the leaves open,
I see when I walk how well all things lean on each other
Ronald Bly
An orchard begins with the health of the soil, the foundation of growth, with the fungi joining the tree roots supplying water and minerals in exchange for sugars. The flora available to the fauna all leaning on each other … the orchard is alive.
So it is with communities, leaning on each other together, sharing, learning, caring, giving and receiving.
This community orchard will be a place for you to be, to feel and understand how we are connected in the widest sense. A place of quiet contemplation, shared work as a community, understand in increasing detail the fruits to share. The flowers, grasses the bugs, beetles and what goes on underground. Connection to nature at a young age is with you for ever (and for those of us a little older).
We aim to give everyone the chance to have these experiences that they can keep with them.
