The Stonesfield Tree Planters have been planting native trees around our village of Stonesfield. Our aim is to plant a tree for everyone in the village – 1575 trees. We are community led and the trees have to add value to the environment in its widest sense.

We have looked for local initiatives wanting to plant trees, that have values we share, are community led and supported for the future. We have identified a project from the World Land Trust. They are based in Suffolk and have Sir David Attenborough as a Patron. https://www.worldlandtrust.org

We want to support the planting of trees in Madagascar, the Vangaindrano district, protecting and extending the forest that is essential for lemurs, particularly the white-collared lemur. The element of the project for trees is to plant 500,000 trees and hire six rangers from the community.

As a minimum we want to fund a tree for everyone in Stonesfield and additionally anyone who donates from further afield.
