Arrangements for library opening around Christmas and New Year
Libraries will close by 4pm on Thursday 24 December, and will reopen from Monday 4 January.
The following 5 libraries will also be open on Tuesday 29, Wednesday 30, and Thursday 31 December:
• Abingdon
• Banbury
• Henley
• Oxfordshire County Library
• Witney

All library loans due for renewal/return from 2nd week April onwards
During the November lockdown, all library loans were extended to January. Following the various announcements from the Government over the weekend, we have taken the decision to extend all loans until the second week of April 2021. This is to avoid concern and confusion for customers who may wish to avoid social contact with rising infection rates. This also applied to all new loans once libraries reopened in December. You can safely return items by dropping them off in our red returns boxes at the doors of any library during opening hours.
Please note that Oxfordshire remains in Tier 2, and 33 of our libraries are currently open, with plans underway to reopen the remaining 11 libraries in January/February.
No library customers will be penalised as a result of having to self-isolate, or being unable to travel to return library loans. To check your current loans please login to your online library account via our website or the Library App (search Oxfordshire Libraries in the Apple App Store or Google Play).
All libraries to be open by the end of February
Since the first lockdown, we have reopened 32 libraries, with 2 more due to follow once building works are complete. We are delighted to announce that preparations are now underway to reopen our final 10 libraries in January and February, which will see our full network of 44 libraries open again.
