In February the Parish Council’s third Speed Indicator Device (SID) arrived. Now placed on The Ridings at Farley Lane, clearly visible to vehicles entering the village, this is another reminder of the current speed limit.

Another SID is outside The White Horse facing towards Laughton Hill. As this junction is also a potential hazard, the SID is a useful reminder to all drivers to take additional care.

The final Parish Council SID remains placed on Laughton Hill clearly visible to vehicles entering the village as another reminder of the current speed limit.

Additionally there are two County Council SIDs at the Woodstock Road chicane reminding drivers entering / leaving the village of the 20mph speed limit.

As more towns and villages move to reduce speed limits, drivers have been reminded that these need to be followed. Thames Valley Police Chief Constable John Campbell said: ‘Sometimes I think the message can get a bit confused from Thames Valley Police. Ultimately, if 20mph is the speed limit then we will enforce it like we would for 30, 40 or 50 miles per hour.’
