Land to the east of Chipping Norton is allocated in the West Oxfordshire Local Plan 2031 for strategic development to include around 1,200 homes, 5 hectares of business land together with a range of supporting services and facilities including a new primary school.
To ensure the site is taken forward in a comprehensive and co-ordinated manner, the District Council intends to prepare a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) for the site in the form of a Development Framework – setting out the key principles and parameters for any future development of the site. Once adopted, the SPD will be a material consideration for any planning application that is submitted for the site.
As a first step in preparing the SPD, the Council has published an ‘issues paper’ for a 6-week period of consultation from 25 January until 8 March 2019. The issues paper provides an overview of the site including how it has been identified together with a discussion on the key issues and priorities that will need to be taken into account as it is taken forward.
The issues paper includes a series of ‘consultation questions’ which we would welcome responses to alongside any more general comments you may wish to make.
Copies of the issues paper are available online at www.westoxon.gov.uk/spd with hard copies also available at the locations listed below.
