I am very sad to report the death of David Lines on New Year’s Day. He’d been fighting prostate cancer for several years with great bravery and stoicism. We’ve lost a great friend.

David was one of the original committee members of SUSTO. His work researching and evaluating housing figures for our case against CALA was invaluable. Anyone who was present at the Public Inquiry will not forget David’s impassioned speech to the Inquiry cutting through the developers’ ‘legal’ and ‘planning’ mumbo-jumbo arguments in favour of CALA’s development. He rightly got a round of applause – hooray!

Latterly he has been handling the donations to our campaign to get Stockey Woods declared a Village Green. David has also been our representative to Oxfordshire Need not Greed and the CPRE, keeping us up-to-date with the other devastating developments in Oxfordshire, especially the Expressway and associated housing.

Our sympathies go to Jenny and family.
