Roads minister Jesse Norman has announced the government’s preferred route for the Oxford to Cambridge Expressway, which aims to deliver the missing link in the expressway between Oxford and Milton Keynes. Option A would see the road go via Aylesbury, B along the east-west rail corridor or C would be built along the existing A421 corridor.

South Gloucestershire Council is seeking its second judicial review within four months of Planning Inspectorate decisions to allow housing development. The latest proceedings focus on the development of 121 homes at Charfield by Barratt Homes. In June, South Gloucestershire launched judicial review proceedings against a planning inspector’s decision to allow up 350 homes and a care facility for the elderly to be developed by Welbeck Strategic Land at Thornbury.
