It is to be regretted but in accordance with national policy there will be no observance of Remembrance at the village war memorial on either Sunday 8th November or on Wednesday 11th November.

The door to door collection of donations towards the British Legion poppy appeal has also been cancelled. However, collection boxes will still be available at the Village Shop, Hairdressers, Social Club, and Stonesfield Garage.

On Saturday the 31st of October from 08.00 am there will be a Poppy stall outside the village shop where Poppy 2020 and V75 enamel badges (limited supply), Poppy’s, wrist bands, rulers, and wooden crosses will be available.

Cakes and savouries will also be available until sold out, with all proceeds going to the British Legion poppy appeal. Sarah Brown, of Threeways, Woodstock Road 01993 898193 would be grateful for any cake donations by the 30th October.

Poppy appeal donations can also be made via the British Legion website, https://www.britishlegion.org.uk make a donation

In these difficult times it is important that those who made the ultimate sacrifice are still remembered and it is an opportunity to remember those who have succumbed to this deadly virus.
