The weather was kind to Bridewell this Sunday as our neighbours, friends and the curious came in numbers to Bridewell’s final Open Day of the year. We were delighted to welcome over 500 visitors to Bridewell and were bowled over by the support and encouragement of Bridewell’s work, supporting people in our communities whose lives have been affected by serious mental ill health.

It was wonderful to share Bridewell’s work with people of all generations, with service users and their families relaxing and spending time together in the garden and exploring the vineyard.

Bridewell’s mission of mental health recovery through purposeful and meaningful activity, using gardening and land-based activities such as willow weaving or working in the forge resonated with many visitors. Bridewell staff and volunteers talked with guests who shared their own experiences of mental health, in particular the challenge of finding appropriate support for people experiencing serious mental health problems. Thank you from the Bridewell team to everyone who joined us on Sunday, we hope to see you again in 2022.
